    Unmatched Performance

“Plastic Fusion was hired to test, repair, and replace existing pond liners on a restart project. The scope of work included installing a new insulated HDPE cover on the existing AD lagoon. Not only was the quality of the crew’s work exceptional, PFF was given the “A Team” award for outstanding work ethic.”

      Lagoon Liner Repair

Plastic Fusion Fabricators repairs wastewater, agricultural, and industrial lagoon liners nationwide — locating and fusion-welding tears, punctures, leaks, and failed seams back to a tested, continuous barrier. A leaking lagoon is an active problem: effluent or process liquid escaping into soil and groundwater, a compliance violation in progress, and a system that can’t hold what it’s built to hold. We repair the liner to fused integrity and test it, so the lagoon contains again.

Lagoons are working systems, and that’s what makes their liners harder to repair than most. They’re often full and can’t simply be drained, the damaged liner may be submerged or under sludge, and the repair has to hold in constant contact with wastewater, manure, or process chemistry. Repairing a lagoon liner correctly takes more than a patch kit — it takes the ability to locate the failure in an operating system, draw the level down or work the conditions, and fusion-weld a repair that becomes part of the liner. That’s the difference between a fix that lasts and one that fails the next season.

With 40+ years installing and repairing lagoon liners and floating covers across 24 states, Plastic Fusion knows lagoon systems from the liner up. We repair the liner back to the same fused, tested condition as a new installation — on lagoons we lined and lagoons we didn’t.

      Lagoon Liner Repairs We Perform

      • Seam repairs — re-welding failed or separating fusion seams along the liner
      • Tear and puncture repairs — fusion-welded patches in HDPE, LLDPE, and RPP
      • Leak location and repair — finding and sealing leaks in submerged and exposed liner
      • Waterline and slope repairs — repairing the exposed, UV- and wave-stressed areas where lagoon liners fail first
      • Penetration repairs — re-sealing pipe, aerator, and structure penetrations
      • Liner section replacement — cutting out and re-welding failed sections

      Lagoons We Service

      • Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment lagoons
      • Agricultural and manure storage lagoons
      • Anaerobic digester lagoons
      • Industrial process and cooling lagoons
      • Stormwater and retention lagoons

Why Plastic Fusion for Lagoon Liner Repair

      • Fusion-welded repairs, not patches — welded back to the liner’s original tested integrity
      • Operating-system experience — we repair lagoons that can’t be fully drained, working the level and conditions
      • We install lagoon liners and covers — the same expertise as a new lagoon liner system
      • Leak location — finding the failure in a full or partially full lagoon, not guessing
      • Repair testing — repairs tested for leak-tightness, then documented
      • 40+ years and 24 states — certified welders with nationwide mobilization

Why a Leaking Lagoon Can’t Wait

A lagoon liner exists to keep wastewater, effluent, or process liquid out of the soil and groundwater. When it fails, that containment is gone — and a leaking lagoon means active environmental discharge, potential permit violations, and a problem that grows the longer it runs. Beyond the regulatory exposure, a failing liner undermines the whole system: lost liquid, compromised treatment, and a repair that gets larger and costlier the longer the failure is left. Fast, properly welded and tested repair stops the loss and protects the permit.

      Industries Served

Plastic Fusion repairs lagoon liners for municipal and industrial wastewater utilities, agricultural and livestock operations, food and beverage processors, biogas and anaerobic digestion facilities, and the environmental and engineering firms responsible for lagoon systems nationwide.

      Lagoon Liner Repair FAQs

Can you repair a lagoon liner without draining the lagoon?

Often, yes — at least without fully draining it. Many lagoon liner repairs are done by drawing the level down to expose the damaged area, or by working the waterline and slope where most failures occur. For submerged damage, leak-location methods pinpoint the failure so the drawdown and repair can be targeted. Fully draining a working lagoon is disruptive and sometimes impossible, so we plan the repair around keeping the system in service as much as the situation allows.

      How are lagoon liners repaired?

Lagoon liners — HDPE, LLDPE, or RPP geomembrane — are repaired by fusion and extrusion welding, the same methods used to install them. Failed seams are re-welded, tears and punctures are repaired with welded patches of the same material, and the repair is tested for leak-tightness. Because the repair is welded into the existing liner, it restores the barrier to a continuous, tested condition rather than relying on tape or adhesive patches that fail in submerged, chemically active lagoon conditions.

Where do lagoon liners usually fail?

Lagoon liners most often fail at the waterline and on exposed slopes, where UV exposure, wave action, and wet-dry cycling stress the material, and at penetrations and seams. The submerged portions are generally more protected, but punctures, seam separation, and damage from equipment or maintenance can occur anywhere. Knowing where to look — based on how lagoon liners actually fail — is part of locating the problem efficiently.

Do you repair lagoon liners you didn’t install?

Yes. We repair lagoon liners regardless of who installed them. Our fusion welding expertise applies to any HDPE, LLDPE, or RPP lagoon liner, and our installation background means we understand how and where these systems fail. We locate the damage, repair it to original integrity, and test the repair to the same standard as new work.
