    Unmatched Performance

“Plastic Fusion was hired to test, repair, and replace existing pond liners on a restart project. The scope of work included installing a new insulated HDPE cover on the existing AD lagoon. Not only was the quality of the crew’s work exceptional, PFF was given the “A Team” award for outstanding work ethic.”

      Environmental Containment

Plastic Fusion Fabricators is a full-service environmental containment contractor with over 40 years of experience designing, fabricating, installing, and repairing geomembrane containment systems. From secondary containment liners and concrete protective liners to lagoon liner systems, landfill caps, and biogas collection covers, we deliver engineered containment solutions that protect soil, groundwater, and air quality — and keep your facility in compliance with EPA, SPCC, RCRA, and state environmental regulations.

Environmental containment is what we do. Every service we offer connects back to a single objective: keeping what’s inside contained, and keeping what’s outside protected. That means installing geomembrane barriers that prevent seepage into groundwater, building secondary containment systems that capture spills before they reach soil, lining concrete infrastructure to stop chemical corrosion, and sealing biogas covers to prevent methane emissions. It’s engineered protection — not off-the-shelf products — designed, fabricated, and installed by certified crews who understand the materials, the welding, and the regulations.

      Our Environmental Containment Services

Geomembrane Liner Installation We install HDPE, LLDPE, RPP, XR-5, PVC, and polypropylene geomembrane liner systems for containment applications across every industry. Our certified thermoplastic welders handle projects from single-cell lagoons to multi-acre landfill systems — with full QA/QC documentation on every seam.

Secondary Containment Secondary containment liner installation for tank farms, fuel storage, chemical processing areas, and SPCC-regulated facilities. We also provide containment repair and maintenance services — liner welding, seam repair, panel replacement, and annual inspection programs.

Concrete Protective Liners Concrete protective liner (CPL) installation for wastewater treatment structures, digesters, pump stations, and chemical containment. We install AGRU Sure Grip cast-in-place systems for new construction and retrofit CPL systems for existing infrastructure.

Lagoon and Pond Liner Systems Lagoon liner installation for wastewater treatment, agricultural waste containment, and industrial process water. From municipal wastewater lagoons to dairy manure impoundments, we install liner systems that prevent seepage and protect groundwater.

Landfill Liners and Caps Landfill liner installation for new cell construction and landfill cap systems for final closure — including traditional soil-covered caps, exposed geomembrane covers, and ClosureTurf synthetic closure systems. Subtitle D, RCRA, and CCR Rule compliant.

Anaerobic Digester Covers and Biogas Systems Anaerobic digester cover installation and biogas collection cover systems for methane capture, odor control, and renewable energy recovery. Complete biogas collection system integration — covers, HDPE gas piping, condensate management, and flare or RNG tie-ins.

Floating Covers Floating cover systems for potable water reservoirs, wastewater treatment, and industrial process tanks. Including heat retention covers for digester temperature management.

Containment Repair and Maintenance Secondary containment repair — liner welding, seam repair, panel replacement, pipe boot re-sealing, and anchor system restoration. Annual inspection and maintenance programs with documented condition reports for SPCC and regulatory compliance.

HDPE Pipe Fabrication Our in-house pipe fabrication shop builds custom HDPE spools, manifolds, fittings, and pipe assemblies for containment, biogas, and industrial piping applications — so your project’s custom components arrive site-ready.

      Environmental Containment FAQs

      What is environmental containment?

Environmental containment is the engineered practice of preventing hazardous substances, wastewater, and process chemicals from reaching soil, groundwater, or surface water. It encompasses the design, installation, and maintenance of barrier systems — geomembrane liners, concrete protective liners, secondary containment structures, landfill caps, and floating covers — that isolate contaminants from the surrounding environment. Environmental containment is regulated under multiple federal and state frameworks including EPA SPCC, RCRA, Subtitle D, and the CCR Rule.

What types of environmental containment systems does Plastic Fusion install?

We install geomembrane liner systems (lagoon liners, landfill liners, tank liners), secondary containment liners for tank farms and chemical storage, concrete protective liners for wastewater structures, anaerobic digester covers and biogas collection systems, floating covers, landfill cap systems, and containment repair/maintenance services. Every system uses thermoplastic geomembrane materials — HDPE, LLDPE, RPP, XR-5, PVC, or polypropylene — selected for the specific chemical, thermal, and regulatory requirements of each application.

What is the difference between primary and secondary containment?

Primary containment is the vessel or structure that directly holds the stored substance — the tank, pipe, lagoon, or process unit. Secondary containment is the engineered backup system — a liner, berm, dike, or vault — designed to capture and contain any release from the primary system before it reaches the environment. EPA’s SPCC rule and RCRA regulations require secondary containment for facilities storing oil, hazardous substances, and hazardous waste. Plastic Fusion installs both primary containment liners (lagoon liners, tank liners) and secondary containment systems (dike liners, bermed containment areas).

How does Plastic Fusion ensure containment system quality?

Every containment system we install undergoes documented QA/QC testing. Geomembrane seams are tested using non-destructive methods (vacuum box, air lance, spark testing) and destructive methods (peel and shear testing on field samples). Test results, material certifications, deployment logs, and as-built records are packaged for CQA review and regulatory submittal. This documentation is critical for SPCC Plans, RCRA permit applications, and state environmental compliance files.
