Geoweb Liner Installation
CONTACT FOR GEOWEB LINER INSTALLATION

Unmatched Performance
“Plastic Fusion was hired to test, repair, and replace existing pond liners on a restart project. The scope of work included installing a new insulated HDPE cover on the existing AD lagoon. Not only was the quality of the crew’s work exceptional, PFF was given the “A Team” award for outstanding work ethic.”

Geoweb Liner Installation
Plastic Fusion Fabricators is a Geoweb installation contractor specializing in geocell systems that protect geomembrane liners and stabilize slopes in containment basins, ponds, landfills, and mining applications. We install Geoweb geocell confinement over and alongside liner systems — providing hard-armor protection, slope stability, and erosion control without compromising the liner underneath. For lined containment that needs structural slope protection, Geoweb is the engineered solution, and proper installation is what makes it work.
Geoweb is a three-dimensional geocell confinement system — expandable honeycomb panels that are filled with aggregate, concrete, or topsoil to create a stable, load-bearing, erosion-resistant surface. In containment applications, Geoweb is installed over geomembrane liners to armor slopes against erosion, wave action, and mechanical damage. The critical detail is installing it without puncturing the liner: the system is suspended with tendons and anchored at the crest so the liner integrity is never compromised. That takes a contractor who understands both geocell installation and liner systems.
Plastic Fusion brings exactly that combination — 40+ years of geomembrane liner experience plus geocell installation capability, across 24 states. We install Geoweb the right way for lined containment, where a puncture means a leak.
Geoweb Liner Applications
- Containment basin slope protection — hard armor over geomembrane liners in process and storage basins
- Pond and reservoir slope stabilization — erosion control on lined embankments
- Landfill slope armoring — protecting landfill liner systems on steep cell slopes
- Mining containment — slope protection for leach pads and process ponds
- Channel and spillway armoring — erosion control in lined waterways
- Leachate and wastewater pond protection — armoring exposed liner slopes
How Geoweb Is Installed Over Liners
Installing Geoweb over a geomembrane liner requires technique that protects the liner:
- Subgrade and liner preparation — the geomembrane liner is installed and inspected first
- Geocell expansion and layout — Geoweb panels are expanded and interleafed, connected with keys
- Suspension and anchoring — on lined slopes, the system is anchored at the crest with tendons and a deadman/anchor system so the geocells are held in place without stakes or penetrations through the liner
- Infilling — cells are filled with aggregate or concrete, with controlled drop height to avoid damaging the cell walls or the liner below
- Compaction and finish — infill is compacted and finished to the specified profile
The distinction that matters: anchoring the geocell system without puncturing the liner. A general geocell installer who stakes the panels down will perforate the liner and create leak paths. PFF suspends and anchors the system to keep the liner intact.

Geoweb Liner Installation FAQs
What is Geoweb and how is it used with liners?
Geoweb is a three-dimensional geocell confinement system — expandable honeycomb panels filled with aggregate, concrete, or soil to create a stable, erosion-resistant surface. In liner applications, Geoweb is installed over geomembrane liners on basin and pond slopes to provide hard-armor protection against erosion, wave action, and mechanical damage. It lets containment systems use steeper, more stable slopes while protecting the liner that provides the actual barrier.
How is Geoweb installed without damaging the liner?
On lined slopes, the geocell system must be anchored without puncturing the geomembrane. Instead of staking the panels down through the liner — which would create leak paths — the system is suspended using tendons and anchored at the crest of the slope with a deadman or earth anchor system. Infill is placed with controlled drop height to avoid damaging the cells or the liner. This liner-protective installation technique is the difference between a general geocell installer and a contractor who understands containment liner systems.
Why use Geoweb on a lined slope?
Geomembrane liners on steep slopes are vulnerable to erosion of cover soil, wave action at the waterline, UV exposure, and mechanical damage. Geoweb geocell confinement armors the slope — holding infill in place, resisting erosion, and protecting the liner — while allowing steeper slopes than unconfined cover material. It’s specified where lined containment needs durable, structural slope protection.
Does Plastic Fusion install both the liner and the Geoweb?
Yes. We install geomembrane liner systems and Geoweb slope protection as a single-source contractor. That coordination matters: when the same contractor installs the liner and the geocell protection, the anchoring and infill are designed to protect the liner, and there’s one point of accountability for the complete system.
