    Unmatched Performance

“Plastic Fusion was hired to test, repair, and replace existing pond liners on a restart project. The scope of work included installing a new insulated HDPE cover on the existing AD lagoon. Not only was the quality of the crew’s work exceptional, PFF was given the “A Team” award for outstanding work ethic.”

      Leachate Pump Stations

Plastic Fusion Fabricators designs and fabricates HDPE leachate pump stations for landfills, transfer stations, and industrial sites. We build the corrosion-immune structures — wet wells, risers, sumps, and dual-containment systems — that house leachate pumping equipment and move highly contaminated liquid safely from collection to storage or treatment. Where concrete cracks and corrodes and steel rusts in aggressive leachate, fabricated HDPE delivers a leak-proof, chemically inert structure built to last the life of the site.

Leachate is acidic, corrosive, and chemically variable — its pH and composition shift with rainfall and waste age. A pump station built from standard concrete or cast iron degrades fast in that environment. That’s why modern leachate pump stations rely on engineered plastics: an HDPE wet well and containment structure resists the corrosion, scaling, and chemical attack that destroy conventional materials, while fusion-welded joints eliminate the leak paths that compromise containment.

With 40+ years fabricating HDPE structures and caissons, Plastic Fusion builds leachate pump station structures engineered for your flow, depth, and site conditions — fabricated in our shop and delivered job-ready, or fabricated and installed by our crews.

      What We Fabricate

      • HDPE wet wells and sumps — the corrosion-immune collection structure
      • Risers and standpipes — for submersible pump placement
      • Dual-containment systems — double-walled structures with leak detection for hazardous leachate
      • HDPE caisson structures — deep wet wells with anti-floatation flanges
      • Leachate collection and forcemain piping — fused HDPE conveyance
      • Pipe penetrations and equipment integration — sealed pass-throughs for pumps, piping, and controls

Why HDPE for Leachate Pump Stations

      • Corrosion immunity — HDPE resists the acids and aggressive chemistry of leachate that corrode concrete and steel
      • No scaling or pitting — smooth interior maintains flow and resists buildup
      • Fused, leak-proof construction — monolithic fusion joints contain hazardous leachate with no leak paths
      • Dual-containment capability — double-walled fabrication with leak detection for regulatory compliance
      • Anti-floatation design — flanged structures resist buoyancy in saturated landfill conditions
      • Long service life — engineered to last the operational life of the site without corrosion-driven replacement

      Applications

      • Municipal and industrial landfill leachate collection
      • Transfer station leachate pumping
      • Industrial site contaminated liquid collection

      Leachate Pump Station FAQs

What is a leachate pump station?

A leachate pump station is the infrastructure that collects and transports leachate — the contaminated liquid that drains through landfill waste — from the collection point to storage or treatment. It consists of a wet well or sump (the collection structure), pumps (typically submersible or self-priming), forcemain piping, valves, and control systems. Because leachate is acidic and corrosive, the station structure must resist chemical attack — which is why HDPE and engineered plastics are specified over concrete and steel.

Why use HDPE for a leachate pump station instead of concrete?

Leachate is acidic and chemically aggressive, and it corrodes concrete and steel over time — cracking, scaling, and ultimately failing. An HDPE wet well and containment structure is chemically inert: it resists the acids and chemistry of leachate without degrading, and its fusion-welded joints contain the hazardous liquid with no leak paths. For a structure that has to last the operational life of a landfill, HDPE eliminates the corrosion-driven failure and replacement that plague concrete structures.

Does Plastic Fusion supply the pumps?

Plastic Fusion fabricates and installs the leachate pump station structure — the HDPE wet well, riser, sump, and dual-containment system that houses the pumping equipment. We coordinate with pump, valve, and control suppliers to integrate the complete system, ensuring the structure is configured for the specified pumps, piping, and controls. Our expertise is the corrosion-resistant structure that protects the system and contains the leachate.

What is dual-containment and why does leachate need it?

Dual-containment is a double-walled structure with a space between the inner and outer walls that allows leak detection. Because leachate is hazardous, regulations often require containment that can detect and contain a leak before contaminated liquid reaches the environment. Plastic Fusion fabricates dual-containment HDPE structures with leak detection for leachate pump stations that require this level of protection.

Can you build deep wet wells for leachate collection?

Yes. We fabricate HDPE caisson structures for deep wet wells, including anti-floatation flanges that resist buoyancy in saturated landfill conditions. The structure is fabricated from profile wall HDPE to the depth and diameter your collection system requires.
